Class of 1959
We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th class reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long ago life at our Alma Mater's, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Love Phillips ~

My sister, Laura Evelyn Love Ables, will be celebrating her 50th Class Reunion tomorrow night at the Parish Hall at St. Michael Catholic Church. I look forward to celebrating and attending the Alumni Banquet and seeing her classmates again after all these years. Below is a picture of her class in the 10th grade in 1959 and was also the year I graduated from S.F.X.A.

The Southern Cultural Heritage Center (formally S.F.X.A) is getting a facelift. Workers with Willmer Painting of Greenville scraped paint form the window frames of the complex this past week. Repairs, overseen by David Smith Construction of Inverness, are to cost $188.000 and are being funded through a $150,000 grant from the Department of Archives and History. The SCHC is seeking donations to cover the rest of the work, which will include roof and brick repairs, said Annette Kirklin, executive director. Names of donors who give $50 will be placed on a plaque at the SCHC. Call 601-631-2997 or e-mail email@example.com. The SCHC is comprised of five buildings built between 1830 and 1955. The center is used for cultural programs and other events.
These two pictures were taken today around 10:40 a.m. while steam cleaning the roof.
