LITTLE, JANE CAGLE ~ Jane Cagle Little of Mountain Brook died on June 29 due to complications of corticobasal degeneration. Mrs. Little was born in Gladewater, TX on May 3, 1936 and was raised in Atlanta, GA. After graduation from Brown High School (1954) and Georgia State University, she taught in Atlanta, then at Mountain Brook Jr. High and Highlands Day School, meanwhile earning an MA in English from Samford University. She later graduated from Cumberland School of Law and in 1979 was certified to practice law in the state of Alabama. Mrs. Little enthusiastically devoted herself to her profession, deriving special satisfaction from intellectual and investigative challenges and from professional interaction with her colleagues, whom she esteemed highly. She was honored to be among the founding members of the Alabama chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mrs. Little was predeceased by her parents, J. W. and Beatrice Cagle, her brothers Barry and Jay Cagle, and her sister, Ann Houten. She is survived by her husband, Walter; her children; Wendi Thomas (Jeff) and Kim Benos of Vestavia Hills and J. Michael Webb, M.D. (Lib) of Florence; her stepchildren, Elizabeth Allen (Paul) and Walter Little (Mary) of Mountain Brook and Frances Little of Tuscaloosa; and her sisters, Jenny Lee of Atlanta and her twin, Jean Adams of Savannah. She is fondly remembered by sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jane was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Advent, and a memorial service will be held there on July 3 at 10 a.m., to be followed by a reception in Clingman Commons.
