Paul Booth '59 ~ Marian, convey my thanks to you and to all who contributed time and effort in the planning, communication and organization of our 50th reunion. It was, for me, an enjoyable and especially meaningful walk among the memories and faces that were so much a part of my early developing years. I have already gleaned many good reflections and anticipate that there are more to come.
I wish all of us and our families the favor and goodness of God as we continue to live out our lives and His grace finish them well.
Juliet Weber and Bill Adams '59 ~ To All of the group in Vicksburg who worked to make this weekend such and enjoyable time,a simple thank you seems small for all you did. I do not believe any other class will be able to top this celebration. Thanks for making this such a fun weekend. Julie and I will remember this for a long time.
Walter Little '59 ~ I want to echo what Bill has said. I have never heard of a reunion that was so much fun, and I cannot imagine how much work it was to put it all together. The blog was responsible for the remarkable turnout, I think. The long-distance travelers were a testament to loyalty. The icebreaker did just that, and the picnic was a very rewarding chance to trade life-stories and lessons learned, not to mention perfectly grilled burgers and a wonderful place for the children. It was especially heartening to see how much so many have blossomed. As for me, I was glad not to be scared of the girls anymore, and you all remain as beautiful in my eyes as you were in '59. May God smile on all my classmates, and especially on those who put so much thought and labor into making this a perfect weekend, for you were and are a special blessing to us all. With deep appreciation,
Robert Witty '59 ~ How do I top Bill, Walter and Paul with their comments. The event was great and a special thank you goes to all the folks who made this reunion possible including spouses who helped. We need to think about another reunion in about 5 years and Philip can cook the food once again. Everything was very nice starting with Friday night. Marian with her blog has been special in updating all of us on activities for everyone. Thanks to Louis, Mandy, and Eddie for their contributions at the banquet. Good health and God bless all of you and your families.
George Evans '59 ~ I'm not sure exactly what I expected out of the 50th but I join Bill, Walter, Paul and Robert in thanking you and the Vicksburg women plus Sonny in far exceeding whatever expectations I had. You out did yourselves with the work that had to be involved to let us out of townees just show up and enjoy. Thank you so much. Carol and I regret that we missed the Saturday evening events but know a great time was had by all. I will properly castigate Hennessey when I next see him. But I doubt if it will do any good. I may be getting overly sentimental with the aging process, but I experienced a spiritual aspect in my time with ya"ll on Friday and Saturday. There was some foolishness which was great fun, but also some deep peace and solace in the remembrances and just in the faces and smiles and mannerisms that will stay with me a long while. Thank you all for that. Carol, who is quite sensitive and intuitive which has been enhanced by her social work training and career, commented repeatedly about the beautiful quality of the visiting and the fun she had in getting to know many of you. That's a compliment in what can be an awkward situation for a spouse in such a situation. Thanks for that as well. I would support Robert in five year renewals if there is interest in the group. Gob bless and keep you all in His love and goodness until the next time.
Marlene Caston '59 ~ Marian, I too join the guys in thanking everyone who had a part in making our 50th Reunion a memorial event. It was a very special occasion and reflected a lot of effort by the Vicksburg group. A special thanks to you for keeping us all informed. Well done and thanks! It was wonderful seeing old friends again, meeting their spouses, sharing information about children and grandchildren and of course reminiscing about the good old days. I will treasure this past weekend for a long time to come and would certainly make every effort to attend another reunion in 5 years.
Dickie and Debra Matherne ~ Debra and I would like to express our appreciation to all of the reunion committee. All of your hard work made this 50th reunion a memorable occasion. To be included in this event was an honor. I know that we can not live in the past, but it was fun to go back...if only for a short time. To all those that I had the privilege to share those special years at St. Aloysius I say thank you. I hope we meet again. May God Bless each of you and your families.
Karen and Larry Miller '59 ~ I join my fellow classmates and congratulate all who, through their tireless efforts, planned, organized, and executed such a flawless schedule of two day events. Karen and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. I agree with Robert and George on having a reunion every 5 years. In closing, I say, "Thanks, to all of you". Until next time!
Jack Baker '59 ~ Dear Marian, Thanks again for a wonderful reunion celebration. I felt very happy to be among so delightful a group of men and women again after all these years. Particular thanks to the steering committee, Catherine and Roy Turcotte, Vera Brown, Sue McNamara, Jackie Doiron, Myrtle Alvarado, Ina Whittington and you for the most important Class of 1959 Blog. It made sharing our lives easier and fun. Thanks also to Phillip Doiron and Louis Logue. Phillip's BBQ was highly edible and Sonny's photo show a treat for all. Another reunion in five years would be just as much fun or more. May all be well and happy.
Ivan Cunningham '59 ~ Dot and I both want to congratulate all of the people who worked beyond the call of duty to put on such a great celebration of our 50 years of life after graduation. It could not have been such a great success without the hard work and planning by those who still live in Vicksburg or who came to Vicksburg to help in the event. Marian, you were very instrumental in creating the excitement in your/our Blog. Myrtle, Sue, Vera, Ina, Katherine and Skeeter, Jackie, Louis and I'm certain that I have left some of you out and I am very sorry for that. All of you worked very hard and it showed in the turn out. IT WAS VERY MUCH FUN!!! Thank you Phillip and all of your cooking crew for cooking those delicious hamburgers and hot dogs. It was great to see Dickie Matherne and Brother Cecil again. Sincerely, Ivan & Dot Cunningham
Rosalye Wilkerson Baldwin '59 ~ Thank you for sending the reunion book to me.....although I didn't deserve to get it. I have enjoyed reading about all our classmates and regret that I didn't get to see them in person. Forgive me for not letting you know that I wouldn't be able to make it. Was in charge of a bridal shower for our pastor's daughter on Saturday among other things. Know you all enjoyed being there and sorry I couldn't make it.
Rosalye ~
