I found out through Facebook recently that our classmate, Larry Miller, has been very sick. I talked with Larry yesterday and said that he was feeling much better but had been in the hospital back in May for almost a month. According to our classmate, Dr. Walter Little, Larry has both amyloidosis, which is deposition of an abnormal metabolic product in various organs and sometimes can be fatal (but according to him it is currently under control) and pulmonary fibrosis, which is scarring in the very thin walls of the air sacs of the lung and interferes both with getting air into and out of the lung and absorption of oxygen and disposal of CO2. Larry also told me that he would have to be on chemo for the rest of his life. He sounded in good spirits and I wanted to get some prayers going for him.
