Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~

Mercy Day

I was very fortunate to have been taught by the Sisters of Mercy at Saint Francis Xavier Academy in Vicksburg, MS for 12 years, graduating in the Class of 1959.

Ever since Catherine McAuley opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland on this day in 1827, women and girls have been cared for, educated, and empowered by Sisters of Mercy all across the globe.

An Update On Chuck Kitowski

I received a call from Theresa about her husband Chuck, and she told me that the Doctors are amazed that he came through two strokes, seizures, blood clots, and blockage.  While in the hospital he was on a walker but when he got to their friend's house (where they are staying for the time being) he ditched it and started walking.  He can walk over two miles now but has problems with his speech and of course can't drive yet.  Theresa said to thank everyone for all your prayers and get well cards sent to him.  Please continue to keep him in your thoughts as prayers because he has a long recovery road ahead of him and of course Theresa has her health issues as well.

Rosalye Wilkerson Baldwin's Son, Troy

 Troy Beckett Baldwin

Today I’m reminded of the joy that Troy brought to our lives and the faithfulness of our God over the past 30 years! There were many hard times for sure, but the sweet memories will be there always. Oh, what joy there will be when we meet again!!
“Though today we may find ourselves experiencing seasons of long goodbyes, our trust in Christ’s death and resurrection promises an eternity of hellos.” - Bill Crowder

God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:3-4
