Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~

Chuck's Surgery A Success

I received a call from Myrtle this morning who talked to Rita (Theresa's sister) that Chuck's surgery was a success and will be going to rehab soon.  Please continue to keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery as well for Theresa.  The family appreciates all your prayers for him.  Prayers for all our classmates, their spouses, and/or family members in poor health.  Please stay safe during this pandemic and God Bless!

Chuck Lined Up For Surgery Today

Classmates:  Received this message from Rita (Theresa's sister) by Myrtle this morning.

Chuck is lined up for surgery at 6:30 this evening (Monday).  Talked with Theresa for just a few minutes today.  She says thanks for the prayers and your concern.  It is hard when you cannot be there.  Especially remember him in prayers during the 6:30 hour.  Thanks!  (Received a call that the surgery was moved up four hours)

Please Keep Chuck In Your Prayers

I received a phone call from our classmate, Kay Hess Simms this afternoon that Theresa's husband, Chuck had a major stroke Tuesday. Please keep him in your prayers and I will keep you updated either by email or on our blog of his condition.

The picture of Chuck was taken while at a wine tasting last October when Myrtle, Sue, Ina, Rita, Kay, Jim, and I visited their Travis Lake home in Lago Vista, Texas.

Then & Now At Redwood Swimming Pool

Redwood Swimming Pool in Redwood, MS.  If it gets any hotter, the famed 1950s place-to-go in the summer might have to reopen - - Marty Kittrell

I love this picture of four of my classmates goofing off at a senior swimming party and BBQ at Redwood, MS.  Left to right are Margaret McCormack (deceased), Kay Hess, Vera Marshall (deceased), and Jackie Melsheimer.  (May 24, 1959)
