Joe Lindigrin's Son, Jeff Dies

Jeffrey "Jeff" Lawrence Lindigrin
June 28, 1961 ~ July 12, 2022

Jeffery “Jeff” Lawrence Lindigrin, age 61, of Rockwall, TX, passed away unexpectedly into the loving arms of his Savior on July 12, 2022. He was born June 28, 1961, in Jackson, MS, to Geraldine (Conn) Lindigrin and Joseph Franklin Lindigrin, Jr. Jeff moved from his beloved state of Mississippi to Dallas, Texas, in the early 1980s.

Jeff was a Christian, had an infectious smile, a larger-than-life personality, a kind heart, and dearly loved his family. He was witty and fun-loving and brought laughter to everyone around him. He was very creative and particularly enjoyed expressing his artistry through painting. During high school and college, Jeff loved to sing, and one of his greatest joys was singing in a church quartet in Clinton, MS. Jeff enjoyed spending time outdoors, ranching, hunting, and playing sports and was a lifelong Mississippi State Bulldog fan.

His mother’s nickname for him his entire life was “my little boy.”  He was employed by Great Western Home Loans for 19 years as the VP of Happiness. Jeff was so proud of his eldest daughter, Lauren’s academic accomplishments and successful career. He was a great supporter of his daughter Mack’s basketball career and hardly ever missed a game or practice of hers. He even learned the sport of soccer to support Emily at her games. Jeff was a loving father, son, and brother; and will be missed deeply by those who loved him.

Jeff was preceded in death by his loving father, Joseph Lindigrin (Class of 1959), with whom he shared a special bond. He is survived by daughters: Lauren Fay and husband (Brendan) of Raleigh, NC. Mack Lindigrin and Emily Jones of Rockwall, TX; Mother: Geraldine Lindigrin; sister: Sherry Lindigrin, both of Brandon, MS; beloved dog: Mable Maye Lindigrin (only dog he loved); and a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Glenwood Funeral Home Vicksburg, MS.  A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour before the service from 9:00am to 10:00am.

Prayers For Our Classmate, Ina

Please keep our classmate, Ina Lott Whittington, in your prayers. Unfortunately, she passed out and fell this morning and passed out again before the paramedics came. Her BP was 80/46. Dr. Pierce will adjust her heart medication and keep her overnight for observation. She went home but had to return to the hospital after falling two more times.

UPDATE: Ina will be transferred Monday to rehab per her daughter, Rhonda.

UPDATE: 7/10/22 She has a broken hand after falling four times and is in a cast.

UPDATE: Ina is at the Heritage House Nursing Home to take her off all her meds and slowly add them to see which one is making her pass out. She could be there for at least two weeks.

The Easy Cajun

A young man asked his grandfather, "Grandpa, how did you live in the past without technology . . .

without computers,
without an Internet connection,
without TVs,
without air conditioners,
without cars,
no cell phones?"
Grandpa answered:
"As your generation lives today . . .
there are no prayers,
there is no compassion,
there is no respect,
no real education,
there is no personality,
there is no shame at all,
there is no modesty,
there is no honesty.
We, the people born between the years 1940-1980, were the blessed ones. Our lives are living proof."
* While playing and riding a bike, we have never worn a helmet.
* Before school then we played and again after school until dusk and hardly ever watched television.
* We played with real friends, not virtual friends.
* If we were thirsty, we would drink tap water, or water from the hose, not mineral water.
* We never worried even as we shared the same cup of juice with four friends.
* We never gained weight by eating plates of pasta every day.
* Nothing happened to our feet despite roaming barefoot.
* We never used food supplements to stay healthy.
* We used to make our own toys and play with them.
* Our parents were not rich. They gave love, not stuff.
* We never had a cell phone, DVD, game console, Xbox, video game, PC, internet, or chat . . . but we had true friends.
* We visited our friends without being invited and shared and enjoyed the food with them.
Parents lived nearby to take advantage of family time.
* We may have had black and white photos, but you can find colorful memories in these photos.
* We are a unique and the most understanding generation because we are the last generation that listened to their parents.
And we are also the first ones who were forced to listen to their children.
* We are a limited edition!
Take advantage of us. Learn from us. We are a treasure destined to disappear soon.

Prayers For Classmate, Ina Lott Whittington

I was informed this morning by Rhonda, Ina's daughter, that Ina has 95% blockage from her heart cath procedure. As a result, Dr. Pierce, the heart doctor, said she is a poor risk for surgery and stents. However, she will take care of it by medication.

Please keep Ina in your thoughts and prayers at this time.

The Platters - Only You 1955 (HD)

The Platters were one of the most successful vocal groups of the early rock and roll era. Their distinctive sound was a bridge between the pre-rock Tin Pan Alley tradition and the burgeoning new genre. The act went through several personnel changes, with the most successful incarnation comprising lead tenor Tony Williams, David Lynch, Paul Robi, Herb Reed, and Zola Taylor. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990

The Platters - The Great Pretender (Original Footage HD)

"The Great Pretender" is a popular song recorded by The Platters, with Tony Williams on lead vocals, and released as a single on November 3, 1955. The words and music were created by Buck Ram, the Platters' manager and producer who was a successful songwriter before moving into producing and management. The Great Pretender reached the number one position on both the R&B and pop charts in 1956.[1] In 2004, the song was voted 360th greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone.

Prayers For Gannon (Ina Lott Whittington's Great Grandson)

The nurses brought him a party light to make him feel better last night.
We don't know what's going on still. Currently, he is in MRI.
I hate to do this, but I was not prepared financially for this to happen. I missed work last night and am not sure if I'll even be able to go tonight. So I'm asking for small donations to go towards food and gas.
But more than anything, please PRAY! God has had his back through all of this, and I'm praying he continues to do so.
He doesn't like being in the hospital since his last surgery (understandably). He's slept most of the time we've been here, too. This has been overwhelming if I haven't replied to messages, and I'm trying to give Gannon my attention. I love you all!!

Gannon got a 3-day heart monitor placed today (2 days ago) due to the concern over his constant high heart rate. His medicine has not changed since the last apt. His echo looked better than last time but mostly the same. BUT STABLE!! He's starting to come around more and not sleep so many excessive hours. Hopefully, this test will give us some answers.

Please keep praying ❤️

Cole, Gannon, and Dakota (she is 7 months now)

Two days ago - UPDATE
UPDATE
MRI was initially reported to us that he had multiple small lesions on his brain.. then it was changed to tiny previous brain bleeds, possibly caused by bypass during his more recent surgery.
Gannon went into Vtech last night at 1:42 am; his heart rate got to 207, then it corrected itself.
It's being speculated that the event that happened Thursday was a seizure.
EEG and EKG both came back normal, even though he's had these problems.
With that being said, the hospital basically told us they did all the tests they could to keep an eye on him and discharged him.
We were unhappy to hear this, obviously, as we have no answers and are terrified that something will happen again, and the hospital is an hour away.
He's currently with his father, so I may work tonight, and he's keeping a close eye on him. We have a heart rate monitor at the month of our homes we will absolutely be utilizing.
Please continue to pray for him. We have no idea what this means, if it will happen again, or if the "damage" to his brain will be an issue or not. We are left with more questions than answers.
He's been sleeping way more the majority of the day and hasn't wanted to eat much but drinking a lot of liquids.
Please continue to wrap him in your prayers.
We will seek more medical opinions Tuesday since Monday is a holiday.
Thank you to everyone who donated. It made a world of difference, and we are so blessed to have a community for the little boy. We love each of you, and he loves you too!! ❤️
I am praying nothing else happens, but we are blessed with the excellent medical staff of Caring Hands to help our baby, and we are so glad they caught this early on Thursday. ❤️

Prayers Needed

Classmates - Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I'm having vascular angioplasty of my legs tomorrow morning. Dr. Paul Pierce at River Region will be my surgeon, and Laura (my sister) will be taking me for the procedure. Thank you so much! Marian

Update: My angioplasty procedure went well and had no blockage in both legs.  Can't drive for 24 hours and am a little sluggish today.  Thank The Good Lord I had a good outcome.  I'm still having problems with a vascular wound not healing on my left foot, and hopefully seeing a new surgeon Thursday will help.  Thanks again for all your prayers.

If anyone needs prayers for anything, please contact me by email or call me at 769-203-0350, and will post on our Class of 1959 blog.

May God Bless each and everyone one of you!

Prayers Needed

I have not posted in a while to let y'all know who has been in the hospital and is in need of prayers.

Please pray for the recovery of Anita Zorn Hossley (Class of 1958) who had a stroke last week and has been transferred to CMMC for rehab.  My sister, Laura Love Ables (Class of 1961) just had a knee replacement last Tuesday at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. I was in the hospital for 17 days for a stasis ulcer on the left foot and cellulitis on the right leg.  I have home health to change out dressing every 48 hours and go to the wound clinic once a week. I'm also in the process of moving to Cannongate (liveatcannongate.com) in a couple of weeks. For all classmates who have health issues that are in need of prayers as well.

Prayers Needed For Classmates, Etc.

Please pray for Ina Lott Whittington and her daughter, Rhonda.  They both have Omicron Variant. Also, for my Great Grandson Tidus who lives in Montana with Covid.  I have been having issues with my left leg with a vascular stasis ulcer.  Also, trying to move in a couple of weeks to a new apartment.  Just found out that my daughter, Debra Ann has Covid.  Granddaughter Lucy has it now.

Omicron Variant is hitting way too close to everyone's home. With a sad heart but with a strong faith in Almighty God today I kneel down in prayer, asking for a full recovery of those with Covid-19 and the Omicron Variant and in pain, and yes Lord I'm asking You to protect and cover us with Your mercy and forgiveness. Please protect and strengthen us and the elderly, homeless, unemployed, sick, front liners, and caregivers who are exhausted but not giving up.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name,
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
