Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th class reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long ago life at our Alma Mater's, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Love Phillips ~

November 14, 1941 ~ December 13, 2013

Walter Pitts Little, Jr, died of congestive heart failure on December 13, 2013 free from fear, being confident of resurrection and eternal life in Christ. Dr. Little was born in Shreveport, LA on November 14, 1941 and was raised in Vicksburg, MS. He also held a masters in theological studies, was board certified in anatomical and clinical pathology, and was certified to demonstrate special competence in dermatopathology. Walter found great happiness in learning, applying his knowledge to difficult diagnostic problems, and especially in the particular joy that is teaching. Upon his retirement from the clinical faculty at UAB, his former students established and endowed the Walter P. Little Award to fund a stipend granted annually to an outstanding resident in the Department of Dermatology.
