Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~

150th Anniversary Celebration Meeting
Tuesday, September 21, 2010
11:00 am

We will need to discuss any areas not covered and determine if they can be covered, or if they need to be eliminated from the plan.  Things are progressing nicely and there is alot of excitement in the air!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brochures have been mailed.  We have mailed approximately 3,200 to date. Thank you for helping with the stuffing, sealing, stamping & sorting of this huge mail-out!
If you are interested in selling any of the car raffle tickets, please come by the St. Francis Office and pick up a few.
Mrs. McMinn would be happy to have you help sell tickets!
If you would like to check with your Pastor and see if you can sell tickets after Mass that would be a great way to help as well. We can provide a large board with the raffle information on it.
A few reminders of upcoming dates:
Friday, September 24th - Mercy Day - A Mass celebrating the Sisters of Mercy will be held at 9:00 am in the St. Aloysius Gym. Reception following the Mass.
I hope you all have thought about being in the Homecoming Parade!  We are in the process of preparing letters for the former Flashettes & Cheerleaders inviting them to walk in the parade and perform the Fight Song at the Pep Rally on Thursday, September 30th!
Saturday, Oct. 2nd: We will have a booth at the Fall Arts & Craft Show around the Courthouse Museum and need volunteers to help at the booth! We will be selling car raffle tickets, and prints, posters, postcards of the Sisters of Mercy & Brothers of the Sacred Heart Murals. Shifts are available from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, that day. I will be unavailable from 10:00 until about 2:00 pm that day because the Class of 1990 is having their reunion at St. Aloysius High School in the cafeteria & on the playground, and I will need to be present there with them, as a faculty member, and to give the tour, etc.
Sports Hall of Fame: Through last week we have had approximately 460 athletes RSVP for October 29th!
Former Band Members have been invited back to perform with the 2010-2011 Purple Pride Band during the Mega Reunion Week-end, October 29th! For more information contact Vickie Baker Hopkins at 601-636-2256
Friday, October 29th - 9:30 am - Scott Building: St. Aloysius High School will hold an unveiling, ribbon cutting & dedication of the Physics and Chemistry Lab.  The lab will be named the:
Join us if you can!
We are also researching to find all of the Valedictorians & Salutatorians to invite them back and honor them during Catholic Schools Week!  The Sisters of Mercy's Mercy Bus will be here that week also, giving our Elementary students free eye and dental exams.  Plus more....................!
Please pass this email along to any other Alumni or interested parties that you can think of, and help us keep the correct information out there.
New developments are occuring daily, so I will do my best to keep you posted.
Thank you for all of the hard work you have put into this year long celebration!
