We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~
~ Somehow, I was able to hang on to my first grade report card through the years. This is a keepsake for sure! My first grade teacher was Sister Mary Cyrena and the Principal was Sister Mary Callista.

Marian, I have to say that I never saved any of my report cards, not to mention the plethora of deficiency cards I received over the years and with which I could have papered a fair-sized room. I did take first and second grade at “The Sister’s School,” and I don’t remember what kind of grades I made there, but it is safe to say that they were not worth saving.
The one teacher I ever really tried my best for was Miss Herbert, but I was smitten by her deep love for her students and her saintly patience. I visited her in the nursing home with Ivan Cunningham shortly before she died, and she still remembered with vivid detail how sloppy I was in the second grade, but her memories were expressed in the same fond fashion she used for all of us when we were her pupils. I remember her also Walter...what a fine lady. I do have a picture of her to post in later years. She did marry a Mr. Baker later in life and was very happy. Thanks for coming by and your comment!
