~1955 VIRGADAMO TROPHY WINNER - William Gargaro, 17-year old senior guard of the St. Aloysius Flashes (right) was the recipient of the 1955 Anthony Virgadamo trophy award at the Flashes annual gridiron banquet last night. Shown presenting Gargaro the beautiful tropy is Bill Carrigan 1953 winner.
~HAPPY JOE - Joe Balzli (second from right), head coach of the St. Aloysius Flashes, was barely holding back the tears when this picture was made last night at the conclusion of the annual SAHS football banquet. Coach Balzli had just been presented $675.00 from fans and members of his team in appreciation for an undefeated, untied season, the first at Aloysius since 1939. Others in picture are left to right, Teddy Marshall and Ray Terry who presented a $75.00 gift certificate on behalf of the players; Mrs. Balzli and Bob Evans who presneted a $600.00 check made possible by Aloysius fans.
