Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~

In Easter Sunday's Paper

A crowd gathers in front of St. Paul Catholic Church, probably around 1900. The church was organized in 1939 and the building erected in 1849. Next door was the rectory. The church was demolished following the tornado of 1953 as it was deemed structurally unsafe; the rectory was demolished in later years. The photo is from the Old Court House Museum collection.

(I posted this same picture on April 10, 2009, that was an old postcard that Dickie Matherne sent me. It stated 1912 on the postcard).
