Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~

St. Aloysius High School's History

The building was built in 1914 and purchased from the City of Vicksburg in 1948. The Brothers of the Sacred Heart operated St. Aloysius here until 1968. After teaching for 90 years in Vicksburg they withdrew due to lack of Brothers to staff the school. The Catholic parishes, with the help of the Sisters, were operating St. Aloysius when it burned in 1977. A new school was then built on Grove St. and completed in 1979. There the teachings and traditions of the Brothers and Sisters continue on.
