Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~

50th Class Reunion ~ Gloria

~Class of 1958~
Gloria Jean Childress
After graduation from St. Francis Xavier Academy, Gloria attended college at San Diego Jr. College in San Diego, CA. She married Richard Jackson in 1961. She had 2 children and their names are Richard and Ron. She has no grandchildren. Over the years she has worked for a Savings and Loan Bank until 1964. Has not worked since because her husband was a career Navy man and spent three years in Spain and three years in England where Richard was attached to The Royal Navy. She has enjoyed golf-volunteer work through St. Vincent De Paul, a member of The Local Women's Club and Questers for those interested in antiques. This past year due to asthma her time is taken up with reading and transferring a large movie collection from VHS to DVD, cooking and the computer. Her favorite teacher was Sister Mary Rita because she instilled in her the love and respect of books and literature. Some of her favorite school memories are parties of course, dances, teas, The National Military Park as a playground, Sister Mary Assumpta falling asleep in class, Sister Mary Grace checking the time clock when she came to school late and last but not least all of her fellow classmates who made those three years at SFXA a joy! A few things about her and her life are: I have been so blessed to have the love of my life Richard as my husband. He is extraordinary and has put up with me for almost 47 years. Yes, he deserves another metal! Gloria and Richard resides in Grants Pass, OR. Her e-mail is: glo2u@ccountry.net
