Pamelta J. Guchereau
After graduation Pam attended college at Hinds Jr. College and the University of Alabama. She received a BA degree in Journalism. She married Bobby Melsheimer who is now deceased (03/07/05). With this union they had Robert Ross on 03/23/70. She is the proud grandmother of Sean Aiden born on 06/26/07. Her son Robert and his wife Tammy are both RN's at the University Medical Center in ICU. Over the years Pam has worked for Southern Horseman Magazine; Electric Power Association of Mississippi and St. Dominic-Jack Memorial Hospital. She retired from St. Dominic Hospital with 30 years of service. She now enjoys fishing, reading, playing cards; volunteers at the United Way of West Central MS; help prepares and serves meal at Keystone Ministries; deliverer's Meals-On-Wheels to elderly; a Eucharistic Minister at St. Michael Catholic Church and cuddles and spoils her new grand baby Sean.
Her favorite teacher was Sister Mary Vincent because she taught "expression" in the lower grades. She was so patient and understanding -- always encouraging and non-critical.
Some of her favorite school memories are creating a paper panorama of the Amazon River across the blackboards in Sister Mary John's class; cleaning erasers by beating them on the brick wall across from the bathroom; roller skating in the alley; Mrs. Farish's Hamburger and Dill Paddy and hanging over the wall behind the hedges to throw notes to the soldiers in convoy.
She said, she finally got a grandchild last year; have a spoiled-rotten chocolate Lab named Rusti; moved back to Vicksburg after retiring; love hamburgers -- hate okra and no longer skinny as a bean pole! Pam resides in Vicksburg, MS. E-mail: pmel@vicksburg.com
