Class of 1959

We, the Class of 1959, celebrated our 50th reunion on April 24 and 25, 2009. This blog is about sharing memories of our class reunions and a long-ago life at our Alma Mater, S.F.X.A. and S.A.H.S. Good memories of days gone by but not forgotten! A gift to my classmates. ~Marian Ann Love ~

50th Class Reunion ~ Kay

~1958~
Barbara Kay Stewart
After graduation Kay attended MSCW which now Mississippi University for Women. She married Joe Clark and with this union had four children. Their names are: Karen, Heather, Wade and Frank. They also have nine grandchildren. Lindsey, Clay, Nick, John, Lily, Thomas, Will, Ethan and Brenna.
Over the years Kay has worked for Jerky Treats, Inc. (Dog Treats), Hutchison School and taught typing and keyboarding (computer). She is retired from all working jobs and volunteers her time. The enjoys playing tennis, bridge, traveling and reading. I try to visit a fitness center several times a week, work one day a week at a homeless center and tutors 4th graders at an inner city school. Since I'll be president of Brooks Museum League next year, I expect my activities will be curtailed.
Her favorite teacher was Sister Mary Cyrena (1st grade) because she gave me a good start and Sister Mary Lucita because she made school fun. Sister Mary Calista was the epitome of grace and dignity even though she scared her. Some of her favorite memories are walking home from elementary school with Monetta and Rosemary (l -1/2) miles; cheering for the Flashes with Becky and Mary Joy; being St. Joseph on a Christmas float and talking in the back of the room during Latin classes. Her husband Joe retired from the Army in 1979 and now represents Toyota in the material handling business. They live on the Mississippi River and she and her husband are taking two grandsons to South Africa in June. It is the best time of my life right now! Kay and Joe resides in Memphis, TN.
