~Class of 1958~Frances Kathryn Barland
After graduation Fran went straight to work for Rose Oil Company. She married her first husband on May 9, 1959 and with that union had three children, Mark, Jeff and Wendy. (Widowed) She re-married on February 24, 1978 to Jessie Ross and she has three step-children with this union. They are Jessie, Jr., Mark and Rick. She also has two grandchildren Blake and Jared (twins) who are now 10 years old. (see picture below)
Over the years Fran has worked for a lawyer, electrician, secretary and private childcare. Most of all she now enjoys flower gardening, reading, her grandchildren and family. Her favorite teacher was Sister Mary Rita because she was so cute and easy. Some of her favorite memories were basketball, dances, going to football games and having fun with friends.
A few things about her and her life is -- she loves living in Kentucky and is a very friendly place. Her favorite years were when her children were small. She did not like it when they grew up and moved away, but she has adjusted now to her husband and herself. She does keep her grandchildren after school for about two hours until their Mom or Dad gets off from work. She really looks forward to keeping them.
