Roy attended St. Aloysius Grade School and High School. After graduation, he attended the General Motors Institute (GMI), Flint, Michigan, receiving an Industrial Engineering Degree. He joined the Naval Reserves in High School and upon graduation from GMI, (1964) he went to Officers Candidate School. He served active duty on the U.S.S. Turner (destroyer) from December 1964 to December 1967. His rank was LT (jg). Roy married Katherine Meyer (Class of 1959) on December 31, 1960. With this union they have four sons. Jeff (Albuquerque, NM), Greg (Seminary, MS) Tim (Lexington, KY), and Steve (Los Lunas, NM)
He is the proud grandparent of 15 grandchildren are they are: Anthony, Brittany, Ashley, Tessa, Brittany (step-grandchild), Brandi (step), Bridgett (step), BJ (step), Leyvin (step), Tyler, Eric, Elizabeth, Kati Jane, Shane (step) and Phillip (step). Three great grandchildren and they are: Alexis (step), Abagail (Abby) and Nancy Gail (step)
Over the years Roy has worked for General Motors (Buick Motor Division), Chris Posey- Chevrolet/Nissan, George Carr-Buick, Pontiac, Cadillac and The City of Vicksburg. He is retired from The City of Vicksburg.
He enjoys being involved in the Lions Club and trying to recover from a stroke, visiting his sons and grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever possible and participating in Mass at St. Michael with Father Patrick (PJ) Curley officiating pastor.
His favorite teach was Brother Anselm because .... he doesn't remember why.
Some of his favorite school memories are playing in the band, playing Babe Ruth Baseball and attending ball games.
A few things about him and his life is that he has traveled around the world (with the Navy) and around the U.S.A. with Buick Motor Division. On June 13, 2007 he had a stroke and he is presently on the road to recovery. Roy and his wife Katherine resides in Vicksburg.
