~1958~Joyce Marie Brister
After graduation Joyce attended Hinds Jr. College and received an advanced degree from Mercy Hospital X-Ray School. She married Forrest Howard Jones on December 10, 1960. With this union were four children and their names are: Curtis Lamar, Karen Denise, Kyle Howard and Kevin Monroe. She has seven grandchildren and their names are: Leighton Kelly, Brandon Farr, Raven Jones, Kaleb Jones, Madison Jones, Nicholas Jones and Lauren Jones. Over the years she has worked for Tibbs Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Bolivar County Hospital all in Cleveland, MS. She has spent most of her married life being a housewife and mother. She served as homeroom mother for all her children, PTA Treasurer, Vice President and President. She also spent five years on the State PTA Board. She now enjoys yard work and walking. Mostly she just enjoys resting and relaxing. Her favorite teacher was Sister Mary Grace because she was her best teacher. She could teach her in a manner that she could grasp. She was always available when she needed her even on weekends. She loved Sister Mary John because she was the most fun! Some of her favorite school memories are so numerous that she can't begin to name them all. She truly enjoyed every minute she spent at SFXA. The friends she made and the dedication of the teachers will never be forgotten. A few things about her and her life are: Her life is an open book. She does not think she has changed much. She likes to have fun, go dancing, spend time with friends, family and cook. She enjoys her animals, yard work and even housework! Joyce and her husband, Forrest resides in Yazoo City, MS.
